Maguire-Moore, Grant bring CBOI to NYC

If want to get something done, it’s often said, ask a busy person. That’s how Orla Maguire-Moore, the mother of four children under the age of 8, came to head a committee that has been organizing the upcoming Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland trip to New York.

She held the same position back in 2005 when the orchestra, which brings together young people from the two communities in Northern Ireland with those from the Republic, played at Carnegie Hall and at an event in Dorchester, Mass.

Now, the 130-musician outfit – this time with 105 new faces – is getting ready for upcoming concerts at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, and at Armory Track & Field Center in Washington Heights.
